Nothing breaks in-game immersion like stuttering and tearing. GPUs render frames at variable rates, but displays usually refresh at a constant clip, so they can get out of sync, causing visible hitching and artifacts that pull you out of the action. Dolby Vision® Technology

Scene to scene, frame to frame, Dolby Vision makes media look better. The technology improves on standard 4K high dynamic range (HDR) video, dynamically adjusting visuals to make every image in front of you richer, brighter, and livelier. Pantone® Color Validation

While the sRGB color space is the standard for most digital visuals, it only represents about 75% of the DCI-P3 spectrum used for professional filmmaking. 0db Ambient Cooling

Enjoy truly silent cooling under light workloads with 0dB Ambient Cooling technology. In the Silent operating mode, the cooling system switches off all fans during everyday tasks to dissipate heat passively. This lets you concentrate on your work and immerse yourself in movies with less distraction. If CPU or GPU temperatures increase, the fans automatically switch on again.

Redesigned keyboard

The newly redesigned keyboard not only keeps your hands comfortable on the trackpad and keyboard deck but increases air intake for the main system components as well, boosting the Zephyrus G16’s cooling performance without increasing weight or chassis size.

Heatsink

At the heart of every great laptop is a great cooling solution. Despite its ultra-thin chassis, the Zephyrus G16 features a dual exhaust heatsink that helps to efficiently pass heat outside the machine for sustained performance. By placing these heatsinks closer to the chassis, heated air travels more efficiently out of the machine than ever before, reducing recirculation.

Tri-Fan Technology

Our Tri-Fan Technology directs air though precisely calculated cutouts in the chassis, sending airflow directly towards internal components to keep them cool in all conditions. A third auxiliary fan sends additional heat from CPU & GPU directly to the system exhaust, keeping the machine cool during long video renders or gaming sessions.

2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans

The Zephyrus G16 is the first generation of ROG laptop to receive our redesigned 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans™. We’ve added small bends at the end of each of the 84 primary blades that reduce both power consumption and turbulence. The fans also now feature a dual-impeller design, with a smaller set of 84 fan blades inside that allow more air to be sucked through with each rotation of the fan, similar to a jet turbine. These fans consume 16% less power while increasing airflow by 11%, enabling the high-performance components inside to run their very best.

Liquid Metal

Liquid metal compound from Thermal Grizzly reduces CPU temperatures by up to 13°C compared to standard thermal paste. Applying it onto CPUs is delicate work, so ROG commissioned custom equipment to automate the process with mechanical precision, and designed a patented internal fence to contain the compound.

Heatpipes are critically important for a laptop’s cooling system, especially in a thin-and-light form factor like the G16. For 2024, we’re introducing a new fiber and mesh heatpipe that offers a 23% efficiency improvement over the previous groove and powder based design.

Dust and fibers can collect inside the machine, trapping heat and causing degraded performance over time. A filter over the air intakes helps keep dust out, allowing the CPU and GPU to breathe easier for years of smooth and stable operation.

The Zephyrus G16 features a dual exhaust heatsink, with one next to the laptop’s rubber feet, exhausting air downward, and one at the rear of the machine, exhausting air underneath our new display hinge and keeping it away from the screen.

Carving out channels for the keyboard, touchpad, and speakers with ultra-tight tolerances allow them to lay edge-to-edge. Maximum space, maximum efficiency.
Each keyhole, and the nearby keyboard vents, are milled individually. This gives the metal a more premium finish and maintains structural strength to minimize keyboard flex when the chassis is fully assembled.
The holes for the speakers are drilled at a super high 100,000 RPM, allowing for ultra-tight tolerances and a design that spans from one edge of the machine to the other.

Sometimes, bigger does mean better. The Zephyrus G16 has larger woofers compared to the previous generation. This huge increase allows for both louder volumes and clearer and richer sounds at lower volumes. These woofers are also able to hit much lower frequencies, for deeper bass tones than you’d expect from a thin-and-light-laptop.

3 DMIC Array

Three modes for the integrated microphone array give you greater control over your input. Cardioid mode captures sound from right in front of the laptop, while minimizing input from the back, making it ideal for streaming and gaming. Stereo mode uses right and left channels to record a wider soundscape for live music or other immersive experiences.

Dolby Atmos

Richer audio draws you more deeply into gameplay and media. Virtual 5.1.2-channel surround sound powered by Dolby Atmos enhances spatial immersion with more nuanced, layered sound effects that you can optimize with specially tuned preset modes for movies and games.

AI Noise Cancellation

Our advanced Two-Way AI Noise cancellation technology runs on the CPU, which frees up the GPU to hit higher framerates. It works with any input device and also with downstream connections, letting you remove noise from both your own mic input and from incoming feeds. Noise-canceling settings can even be customized per program, filtering specific apps like voice chat without affecting game audio you want to remain untouched.

The Virtual Assistant is an AI application developed by ROG as a supplement to the existing “Virtual Pet” interface, featuring OMNI as an interactive bot that lives on your desktop delivering system notifications and more. OMNI can not only respond to system states and display playful behaviors, but act as an efficient assistant, using AI to summarize documents, transcribe audio, and answer questions about the information in your files, making it highly useful for meeting notes and daily learning. In your free time, you also can chat with OMNI or ask it to open specific apps for you.

  • The standard Asus test environment for battery life is as follows: Windows operating system, display module with 150 nits of brightness, lighting off, and other application settings.
  • Video Playback: Testing is done with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth off, Windows Power Plan set to Balanced, Taskbar Power Mode set to Battery Saver, system volume at 67%, and video at full screen, 1080p resolution
  • Web Browsing: Testing is done with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, Windows Power Plan set to Balanced, Taskbar Power Mode set to Better Battery, and using the Weblooper Top50 website in Google Chrome to play the video with a refresh time of 10 seconds.
  • Factors that affect battery life include laptop configuration, power settings, and the way it is used. Battery capacity fades with its cycle count and age.
  • Quick-charging times apply when using the proper ASUS/ROG adapter included alongside the select model and the system is powered off (via the "shut down" command). In compatible scenarios, batteries can be recharged to 50% within 30 minutes under the optimal temperature range of 20-45 degrees Celsius. Charging times may vary +/- 10% due to system tolerance.
